[pianotech] Weight question

This is true! A nasty job to find the center of gravity to be sure.  Now 
with plate out, I would think, then, that the bass end would be heaviest, 
correct?

Well, when you lift a plate out of the piano, don't you find that the 
center of gravity is closer to the treble than the bass?
