I have an iMac, after years of Windows. I have parallels on it and run Windows 7. I used to run Vista on it but changed to Windows 7. After two years of using mostly Windows on the Mac, I now find I use mostly the Mac side. Since you seem to be short on time, I suggest staying with Windoze...otherwise might not. Be aware that the free compatability-mode VM that is offered (sort of) with Win7 is free for a reason.
