Hi folks The long awaited release I offered som small cuts from earlier is now a fact. World renowned producer Tony Harrison and Norwegian pianist Sigurd Slåttebrekk team up to recreate in an incredible historical journey to document and learn from recreating Griegs playing style and creating a historical record using modern technology of Griegs own interpretation of his own music. There are sound samples and lots of information on the site given below. It has been the most challenging and rewarding project I have had the pleasure to work on. Daily, all day long for 5 weeks over two periods working with the old Steinway B that has had quite a bit less then optimal life with regard to the climatic conditions it has been subjected too through the years. A very acute Killer octave was curiously enough shoved down nearly an octave and a half by lowering the pitch from 442 to 436. Lots of controversy over that move at the time... remember this is provincial Bergen Norway, home of Edvard Grieg Norways greatest cultural icon. Please visit the site, and digest as much as you can from the descriptions and the one video presently available. More to come as time passes by. The CD is available from Simax records in Norway http://www.chasingthebutterfly.no/ Best regards Richard Brekne alias ricb
