Oh, I would have noticed if there were only two string unisons--egad. Actually, the customer likes the tone of the piano--I tuned another spinet that had been donated also. It was in OK shape, but she seemed to prefer this one. BTW, listers, Gary Doudna was the technician at Eastern Illinois University when I went there. I had many fine cups of coffee in his office. He's the person responsible for getting me into this crazy business so many years ago. Thanks, Gary. I didn't charge 2/3 of my fee for them. I had never heard of him--and I've been around for a while. Perhaps he was a member of the Quad-cities chapter at one time. So, did all the Betsy Lynns or spinets made by the Grand Piano Company have green plates? I've never seen a green plate before, and I haven't serviced (before today) a piano made by the Grand Piano Company before either. br ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gary Doudna" < doudna440 at gmail.com > To: pianotech at ptg.org Sent: Wednesday, November 10, 2010 4:33:22 PM Subject: Re: [pianotech] green piano with bass bridge problem Barb... I thought I condemned that piano years ago. The advice sounds good, so "have fun" !
