Wim, You make it sound like the IRS has spy cams installed in our homes watching our every move! They don't. You can tell them anything you want, and they will never catch you until you are audited. Then they will ask you about the TV. You're supposed to answer all questions truthfully, to the best of your knowledge. It's up to you how truthful you want to be. When they see one questionable deduction, they will start paying very close attention to all your deductions.
