[pianotech] Tax Question

Matthew,

The IRS may not have spy cams, but our tax laws do require that we file
honest and truthful tax returns. Otherwise, you may be accused of fraud.
To encourage compliance, the IRS performs various kinds of audits, which
sometimes means calling us in to their offices and asking us to justify or
prove the deductions we claim on a return. Be prepared to do that to their
satisfaction, or have your deduction denied.

Lots of times, it really comes down to our own integrity and ethics when
deciding what¹s honest and truthful. As you probably know, some citizen
filers, accountants and tax lawyers will ³stretch² certain parameters a
little more than others. Determine your own tolerance for risk. :)

BTW, I have a law degree from Georgetown, am an inactive member of the
Pennsylvania Bar, and have never practiced law. The above is not intended
as legal advice or counsel!

Wim,

You make it sound like the IRS has spy cams installed in our homes watching
our every move!
