Hi Joe, I guess I didn't phrase that very well. The recess measures 3/4". You bet there's room enough for the caster to swing around. I think the piano looks a little odd with the dual wheels on those smallish legs, but the customer thinks it looks great. And, of course, the pedals will be at a comfortable height. As I reported earlier, I used a Dremel Multi-Max oscillating tool with the metal/wood blade. It took some time to get that deep--especially the first one (I'm very cautious). I did one a day to give my hand a break from using the vibrating tool. The piano is here in my shop space (I'm reluctant to actually call it a shop), maybe I'll take a picture of the installed casters.
