Richard, I worked on one of these last year and it had some missing levers. Perhaps our crew will come to your aid with vintage replacement parts, but I used new levers -Piantek? or Schaff ? Can't remember which, but they work .I just had to adjust the thickness of material at the bottom of the lever to facilitate damper timing with the key (after getting even lift with the pedal) I hope yours is in better shape. I broke several parts in the repair -regulation process. Best wishes, Tom D. ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard Capp To: Pianotech List Sent: Tuesday, May 11, 2010 12:20 AM Subject: [pianotech] need Steinway upright damper levers Hello list, I am working on an 1874 (!) Steinway upright. It is in amazingly good condition. However it is missing 5 damper levers. The lever is unique, having an adjusting screw to adjust the "spoon" lift. The "spoon" is a rigid wooden projection made as an integral part of the wippen. See attached photo. Would someone have any of these damper levers to sell? Thanks very much.
