Actually, it is not a donation; it goes on SCh C, line 2: Returns and

Allowances.

Oh.  How about if it is a school or church or something simliar?

 

If you are returning an overpayment you do not want it subject to

the deductions rules on Sch A (not sure exactly what they are) but

it is better to reduce the Gross Receipts or Sales (Sch C, line 1) directly.
