I'm posting a copy of this to the home office and case they might be able to head this off by posting current conditions or whatever is appropriate.

This is an unfortunate development, and could mean a disaster for the Guild if the word gets around and technicians hole up elsewhere (or don't bother to attend). Room rents in large part pay for the convention meeting rooms. 
 
I stayed at Bally's about nine years ago and had no problems but conditions may have changed.
