Well it's a Steinway, so look for the verdigris! New springs may help, but
check the jack friction, wippen flange friction, and hammer (Billings style
I think) flange friction.
If there's verdigris, those parts SHOULD be replaced. If you can't do that,
be prepared for an Unsatisfied Customer. Repinning, Protek, and (possibly)
jiffy leads might get things playing in the short run but verdigris'd parts
are lvery ikely to creep back up into excess friction.
