Gregor said: "Take a damp cloth and lay it on the soundboard on the left side of the grand. Work it forward with a flexible steel or plastic, e.g. a ruler. So you get the cloth under the strings and push it with the ruler. You have to place the ruler between the strings to move the cloth forward. You can pull out the cloth on the treble side where the action is (was) and start again until the soundboard is clean."
