[pianotech] WNG Parts Question

I just installed a set of wippens and through my regulation have found the rep springs to be insanely strong. Hammers are lightweight. Would be interested to hear how any of you have weakened them beyond the usual?

Thanks, Cy.

Actually I eliminated the key from the equation by activating the whippen at the heel with my finger. There still exist some other possible causes:

1) the rep spring coil itself
2) rep spring segment where it enters the hole in the back of the jack

Need to run some other tests.

But the sound is most characteristic of a loose hammer head or center pin issue. The hammers seem to be quite solid on the shanks, and I did reinforce with thin CA (to fill any tiny unseen voids) followed by accelerator.

Anyone ever popped off a glued hammer from a hollow WNG shank?
