I thought I was likely the only hot-head piano tuner around! A few months ago I also bought a small battery operated fan for service work. It fits nicely in my tuning case, runs off 4 "D" cells (which I replaced with a smaller rechargeable 6V NiMH battery pack), and seems to work quite well. It is also extremely quiet. It does not affect hearing beats at all. Below is a picture of the fan and the battery pack - I can leave the battery pack in the fan when recharging - I have it out because I also use the same pack to power some blinky lights on my bicycle. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... I did that because one time something in the case made the fan turn on while in the case and it enlarged the hole where the drive shaft went into the fan. Check out my epoxy repair in picture below! The little red wire/plug at the base in the center is for recharging and also I can plug my Pocket PC into the pack to recharge the Pocket PC. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... I service a lot of pianos in retirement communities down here in Florida and they really tend to keep their places HOT. My fan and my Fujan tuning lever are the two best piano tool purchases in years!
