I've had a favourite search registered with eBay for over two years for this book. In that time there has been only one hit, for the German version, and I let it go because I was hoping he'd reduce the price. I now discover that finally the English version has been reprinted, with a rather silly cover. I've just ordered it from Amazon and am looking forward to re-reading this classic for the first time in over 30 years. I recommend it to you. No doubt, as with Wolfenden's book, I can expect to find a few falsehoods in it with the benefit of hindsight, but it is a book that had great influence in the days when pianos were well made and sounded good.
