The worst I've heard was Elton John at Diana's funeral playing a version of candle in the wind.That and half of the live jazz recordings in clubs from the 50's-60's.

  My all time fav Dave Brubeck Quartet  " Time Out " the whole record the piano is pretty rough.  But when I was a kid it didn't matter or I probably didn't hear it  but the Mammas and Pappas did make me cringe even then.
