[pianotech] Tuning pin torque?!?!?

Your decision to share or not share the name of the manufacturer is, of
course, up to you. But since it appears to be a warranty issue I will be
interested to know first if the manufacturer acknowledges that it is a
defect (I don't know how you can argue that 15 - 45 lbs of torque isn't) and
whether the situation was rectified to your satisfaction. If not, I would
like the opportunity to know who is not standing behind their product
warranties so that I may make a more informed decision whether or not to
direct a potential customer that way. In a technical forum such as this
aimed at technicians, not the general buying public, I don't think that
should necessarily be categorized as a "politically charged" interest or
unreasonable question. I don't know, Toyota comes to mind.

Thank you Paul for your response. I am glad all worked-out for you. For the
record, if there is anyone out there that thinks for one minute that I am
protecting a particular manufacture, then you don't know me. However, I
believe there is a gentleman's way of doing business and letting "due
process" run its course. I am finding on this forum that there are some more
interested in the "politically charged" than numbers. Thanks again Paul for
your response.

James
