[pianotech] Petrof music rack

The stuff I'm scraping off has two properties. Part looks like a self 
adhesive strip and other areas appear to be a contact cement.
Neither was very successful.

Sounds like the same stuff they used on my old worn out linoleum flooring.
I've scraped, heated, and even used nasty chemicals on the stuff to no
avail. Next I'm gonna try dynamite. Ever wanna see your name in the morning
paper? :-)

Nope, I often use burnt shellac myself, and this isn't it.
This stuff looks and acts like construction adhesive. Very
tough, resistant to cutting or scraping, dense and rubbery.
About 37 levels of overkill for under string felt, but it
looks about right for putting polyester music desks back
together - whatever the heck it is.
