Subject: [pianotech] Action ratio tool

Just thought I'd share this. An action ratio measurement tool. Made from a
iece of scrap bridge cap maple about 5" x 1/2" x 1/2" with a machine screw
et into the block and therefore capable of a very fine and precise
djustment in height, a couple of jiffy leads to just hold it down on the
djacent keys without depressing them. Pretty simple. The nice thing is
hat it's thin enough that you can slide it back and forth across the length
f the head of the key easily and see how the ratio changes depending on the
oint at which you depress the key. The machine screw here is set at 6 mm
hich seems a good number as that's just short of where the jack tender
ontacts the let off button.
