He was in partnership with Gabriel Buntebart also a German. The last Square ,as close as I can figure, was made near the mid 1940s. A new Mathushek Square was advertised in the "Tuners Journal " on page 6 January issue of 1942. Facts are few but can be found, often with great difficulty. Marshall in the PTG Foundation Museum located in the PTG. Home Office is displayed a Buntebart Sq. built in 1782 and a Mathushek built in 1936. Both pianos mentioned above are verifiable as to age and brand. This gives the Square Pianos a production span of one hundred and eighty two, that's ( 1 8 2 ) YEARS. This makes one wonder at those who would scoff, scorn or mock anything so complicated that would last so long.!!!!!!!!
