Great help.
It is somewhere to start.
Now I know why the hammers were on the felt rail,
which couldn't go any lower.
The piano is from the time when they were made
behind the Iron Curtain, so I guess I shouldn't expect any specs to be
close.
I will just try different things to get it to work
better than it does now.

So, raise the blow distance, or
lower the key height; What else might be coming into play? bad geometry,
poor action spread? You might even be having action bracket spread.
that'll kill any specs you have and will need to replace the
brackets.
Does this help at
all?
Paul

When I change it to inches the key
height would be about 2.51968504". It is 2 3/8".
Hammer blow at inches is 1,81102392 so 1.8"
Thank you,
John

Do you have the Randy Potter Piano Action Handbook?
It says: Key height: 64mm Sharp height: 12.3mm, Blow at 46mm, letoff at
3-1.5mm, Key dip at 10mm, and backcheck distance at 15mm. I would say
your 1-7/8" blow is too low.

I need the help of
the list again.
I have a Petrof small grand I am trying to
regulate.
When I
try hammer to string of 1 7/8" the hammer rests on the rail.
When I measured the key height,
it is 2 3/8" not 2 1/2".
Anyone know what it is supposed to be?
Thank you,
John Ross
