  My cellphone rang as I was driving today, so I couldn't answer. The
caller left a message. It was the husband who booked the tuning
yesterday of the squeaky/crealy pedal piano. He left this message: "Just
a call to thank you for the superb job you did on our piano yesterday;
it really was a joy to play last night". Salutory, somehow, because
although in tune, at pitch, and with now-quiet pedals, it's not an
instrument that in its present condition could really be considered
joyful. But, all those years of being resigned to a noisy pedal! For
shame!

Best regards,

David Boyce.
