The New Mexico Chapter 871, presents a day-long Seminar Saturday, May 8, 2010 Concert Level Regulation and Voicing by Steve Brady Our presenter Steve Brady should be well known to most piano technicians, at least by name. He served as editor of the Piano Technicians Journal for many years, writing many articles on a number of topics, including a series on comprehensive home service (selling regular service beyond just tuning and occasional repairs) and a series relating experiences working with touring concert artists. He has taught several classes at many national conventions and regional seminars, which are always very well attended and well received. He has published two books: A Piano Technicians Guide to Field Repairs (available from the Piano Technicians Guild home office); and his latest book, Under the Lid, which talks about the prep work that goes into bringing a concert piano to concert level. Brady's presentation here will focus on concert level regulation and voicing, with a lecture presentation followed by practical demonstration on the Schimmel grand piano at the location.
