I agree with Wim. (New block is better) Maybe you don't want to install a new block, but last week I did it in around 4 hours from removal to ready to drill. I mate it to the flange conventionally (w/o Bondo or other goop). Also, I highly recommend Ron Nossaman's hybrid blocks. If you're not familiar with them the archives has several posts, but basically they've got a 9mm delignit cap on top of a common maple ply block, which puts extra strength right where you need it w/o the disadvantages that a full Delignit block has. VERY nice to tune!

I know Ron won't say this on line, but he sells these all ready to go. He also sells the cap separately so you can "roll yer own". After making several of my own I'll gladly spend a few extra dollars and let Ron ruin his resaw blade!
