Paul, I agree with Wim. (New block is better) Maybe you don't want to install a new block, but last week I did it in around 4 hours from removal to ready to drill. I mate it to the flange conventionally (w/o Bondo or other goop). Also, I highly recommend Ron Nossaman's hybrid blocks. If you're not familiar with them the archives has several posts, but basically they've got a 9mm delignit cap on top of a common maple ply block, which puts extra strength right where you need it w/o the disadvantages that a full Delignit block has. VERY nice to tune! I know Ron won't say this on line, but he sells these all ready to go. He also sells the cap separately so you can "roll yer own".
