You need to use hearing protection even with major hearing loss!" Blaine, That's a real DUH! If a person wears hearing aids, the Aids MUST have a suppression capability that acts like an ear plug. Of course the Hearing Aid MUST be fitted properly to facilitate this feature. If it is not and keeps slipping out of the ear, then there will be more loss. Also, the aid must be properly adjusted/attenuated/etc. so that the wearer can still hear somewhat. This is pretty much written in stone for hearing aid dispensor types!
