Depending on how badly they were sticking, some of the ones I did that too in the past, were sticking again with 5 to 10 years give or take. While it's not really acceptable, you can give a little bit in the pinning to get a little bit more longevity out of it in the case that you are looking at. I mean, not pin quite as tight as normal. Those that have used the "zapper gizmo" have had better long term luck I think. The only real lasting solution of course, is total parts replacement. -----Original Message----- From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of Israel Stein Sent: Saturday, November 07, 2009 10:02 PM To: pianotech at ptg.org Subject: [pianotech] Verdigris - again Hello, Has anyone here ever tracked a piano with severe verdigris, after reaming and repinning action centers? How long did it take for the verdigris to come back? I know that the fix is temporary - the stuff will come back - but this client is interested in getting a few more years' use out of this instrument (which is otherwise in decent shape) before it doesn't matter any more...
