James, Why wouldn't it be 33% more common from the tri-chord dampers? and on crusty old damper felt, shouldn't we just replace the set? Wouldn't take that much longer to just replace with nice, new resilient felt over taking each one out, trimming and re-installing... One might need to trim, squeeze or bolster in the gap of the felt with whatever fits, like string or thin yarn anyway, however. Depends on the felt and string spacing...Does Wickert make dampers? I love their front rail bushings! Just put new hammers on a Steinway B this week and the old cloth bushings were toast. The Wickert conicals made a huge difference, but that's another topic we've covered recently. Good move for those of you who haven't tried them yet! :>) Just my thought on it..
