Thanks Jon Not quite clear on the underlever at ~ 1 1/2 inch.... its higher at all points then the key end felt... which with a 6 mm rest felt comes out at 3.5 mm (1 3/8 ") What exactly are you measuring where when you mean underlever at 1 1/2 inch Thanks again RicB Adding a thicker back rail cloth means more balance rail punchings to maintain the same height. Try the key elevation at both positions to see how it affects touchweight. There's that elevation thing again Since Hume was a copy of S&S, the key end felt height should be 1 3/8" at rest. That places the underlever at ~1 1/2", so start backwards from there to figure back rail cloth. The height of the backrail does make a difference in touchweight. As to the acutely angled capstans, reposition them in line with a line drawn perpendicular to the cushion at the point of the Magic Line. -- Regards, Jon Page
