Hammers will check in lower after rebounding off the strings than with a free-fall out of the piano. Make certain the key dip is duplicated. Set the back checks higher out of the piano. Another way or a way to check hold the key down with one hand, lift the hammer with the other and fling it into check mimicking the string rebound force.
