Accurate records of what actually transpired? A true valuation of services rendered? A record of charitable givings? Professional reputation (Is your work warrantied if given for free or discounted?) My point is, IMHO it's always a good idea to separate your bread and butter (business) from your charitable contributions (personal) and to keep accurate records of same. DAMHIK. Tthat's why I prefaced "If you really want to donate..." as in, if you really believe in a given charity, certainly donate. But don't devalue your skill set and profession in so doing.
