Hi Rick,

I have used the Sciortino Hand Held Coil Maker, Schaff pg.53 No. 273 where
you use it to make coils on the pin and found it to be acceptable.
I had always just used my thumb for coiling but found as I was doing the
last piano that it was getting tender as I worked. A friend offered my his
coil maker and I used it to string the remainder of the piano. Obviously the
learning curve and extra steps involved with handling an extra tool I wasn't
used to slowed me some but I found the tool to be efficient and quite
useful.
