[pianotech] Fitting pinblock with epoxy

I've used wax at times. Other times I've used a spray can of "Mold Release". I prefer the mold release because it goes on as a very thin film and does not distort the metal surface.

Whatever you use, if you have any doubt that it will release, just try a small area of the plate underneath - put your release agent on there and apply a little blob of epoxy - let cure and see that the epoxy lifts off easily.

Terry, Ron, David, Dale, or anyone else who has done this.

I have just finished fitting a pinblock and I'm 95% +. I would like to try using epoxy for the final perfect fit. What should I use as a release agent on the plate?

  Thanks,

  Al
