Be careful here Bruce, First, the thread of an agraffe cannot be re-threaded without a geometric die head. These threads go past the bottom level of the agraff. This is noted by the cone shaped cut in the base of it. A hand threading tool will leave an un-cut shoulder and the agraffe will not seat. I would try contacting the parts department of Mason & Hamlin. They import ningbo orient piano parts, and should be able to send you one off the shelf. If this does not work I know a guy who can make this part..... but it will cost. He made me 500 of them in 302 grade stainless, and did a stellar job. I have a large collection of different agraffes... Send me the picture.... If we can match the shape-the unusual hole and thread can be re-tapped.... I never had agraffe problems with Chinese pianos,so far... I would assume, their agraffes match So.Koreans and Japanese makers..I have those in every denomination.... Good luck Isaac On Aug 27, 2009, at 6:16 PM, Bruce Dornfeld wrote: This request came to me this week for some help. Any ideas? You seem to have a good network. I've tried the pseudo manufacturer and I'm working with Rick Hansen at SOC because they sell Chinese product but no luck yet. Could you offer any suggestions?
