Not quite. I did get a call from a customer asking if her 
metronome (little credit card size thing) might have 
accidentally gotten into my tool box. Thinking back, I 
remembered seeing it, and putting it with the pile of other 
small detritus like pencils, stickers, post-it notes, and 
sundry unidentifiables, on the mantle across the room. There 
weren't any other flat spots in the room other than the floor, 
and I don't move junk BACK. "Oh yes, I remember that. Check 
the mantle", I said.  She looked, found it, apologized, and as 
I recall, never called for another tuning. There are still a 
number of species unknown and unidentified by science out 
there. Some of them are among our customers. Your ex customer 
will be very annoyed when he finds his watch under the seat of 
his BMW someday. But you'll never hear about it.

Only users lose drugs, and watches. How about if he was asked 
to submit to a toxicology workup? Seems a fair trade for a 
polygraph.
