Hi Jack, I'd be real worried in a case like this. It is very difficult to predict long term damage. Remember that Yamaha rims are not maple and I wouldn't bet that it won't become a problem after a year or two. If I was the customer and was insured for new value, I'd ask for a replacement. I don't think personnally that I would be able to garantee the repair for a customer. A Yamaha C6 had about one inch of water on the soundboard, bridges plate etc. The piano will need a new pinblock, strings and action work. The case is fine as well as the inner rim but there is some discoloration on the bridges. The soundboard so far looks alright. How much water can a piano take? What things should I be looking for? At what point would you write a water damaged piano off?
