the economy

Since it doesn't matter what I think, I'm glad the market crashed, I'm glad the lenders tanked, I'm glad the house of cards fell down and the balloon full of hot air burst. It was bound to happen, I do believe the US will come back stronger and smarter and the sooner it self destructed the better. This is a great day in history!!!!!!!!!
None of this means I'm laughing at someone else's hard times, were all in this together. Personally, I'm just ready to start over.
Right now business has been on a steady rise for about 3 months. If things get really tight, fix old uprights. I know if I were not a piano tech, it would be really important to me that my tuner answer the phone when I call. If we're out there working, we are playing a huge role in the recovery of this economy. Maybe we're not invited to the party in boom times, but right now, I think we can keep on working and spread a little around.
I feel sorry for the local kids around here that put 30 grand into a Suburban with rims and boom and put it all on credit. Stupid!! That could be a down payment on a house, it's worthless bling.

Terry, I don't know which people you're hearing that from................or are you just blowing wind? Everyone I'm talking to is very concerned about the economy, but they are tuning their pianos and that's what I'm saying.

If you want to make a point, use facts.

Haha yeah, the most common thing I'm hearing from people is: "Screw the economy, the stock market crash, the housing slump, the high cost of food, gas and everything in general, my kids college tuition and the coming recession...I just want my piano tuned and I'll pay ANY PRICE!!! And while you're at it, throw in a restringing, new hammers, a dampp-chaser system...oh and one of them nifty string covers. It's ok, I can go without essentials for the next 6 months. Oh..will you take a post-dated check?"
