Lance-
This piano is thoroughly compromised. It is not good for learning tuning, and not worth the parts expense for repairs.
If you want a practice instrument for learning, look for a studio vertical.

Subject: Re: [pianotech] spinet question
Looking at a spinet for possible tuning and /t repair. Anyone know much about maker named "Merlin and sons"? Can"t find anything in Larry Fines Piano Book. I am new in this field of piano tech and thought maybe some of you may have some info. Appears to be an ok piano. Action attaches directly to plate and cabinet..no action bolts.. still considering whether or not I want to tackle removing this action...since even experienced techs seem reluctant to remove action in spinet. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Ron, thankfully gmail still lets it through. It's just marked ***spam*** but at least it doesn't delete it! Thanks for all your work!

We are fine tuning the spam software on the new server and I had it set very
aggressive. I just let through a post that is valid that was a false positive. I
have set the filter a little looser and will be fine tuning. The post marker
SPAM is a valid post. Sorry for any confusion.
