Not to speak for Ron, but I can offer a little info that might clarify things. Baldwin had two configurations for termination pieces. One was used through out the top treble sections, initially. The second was substituted for the first, when it was determined that it improved the sound. Consequently, what you find in SD and SF scales is mostly "type 1", with a few random "type 2" pieces slipped in. What Ron has illustrated is the addition of the half-round to both type 1 and type 2, as they may appear in the scale. No modification to the termination other than the addition of the half-round to the termination piece. Frank Emerson
