These are a spinoff from Petrof from when Czechoslovakia broke up into 
two countries. Very much in the same tradition... with much the same 
kind of sound and problems.  Very inexpensive, but decent enough sound 
for the price.  Lots of strange things can go wrong with these...  for 
example we had one where the lyre pedal block just fell off the lyre 
legs.  I guess they forgot to glue the thing together.  Easy to fix... 
but not the kind of thing you want to see... makes you wonder.

Bohemia builds the Bechstein name now... which has become a Steinway 
clone.  Very sad story IMHO.
