Square tube action rails for Steinway M

Folks,
	While Talking to David Kirkland (tech support at S&S) today he informed me that I didn't really look close enough and that the letoff rail which I thought was brass encased is actually just painted gold. Sorry about the mis-information.

Yes,  I have.  I wonder if the serial number here is between 294,000 and 
315,000.  I was told that there were some war-era Steinways that used a different 
rail due to the lack of brass at the time.
