Duplex positioning won't affect tuning stability. A concave
crown likely will.

Whatever killed it, the soundboard was dead when she bought
it, is still dead, and will likely continue to be dead for as
long as she owns it unless it's replaced with a new and
working one. It doesn't matter how much more negatively
crowned it gets in the future, it will remain dead. She should
have had someone who knew what they were doing look at the
piano before purchasing it, as she did not get a good deal.
Her options now are to put up with whatever sound and
stability she gets out of it, or to have the soundboard
replaced, at which time the duplex bars can be straightened
out too. I suggest it not go back to SAP for the work.
