Right when I watched the info-mercial I knew - I needed one of these. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uq3V-MfGzFk It proved to be the tool for the job. S&S M, bass bridge top end of the body lifted from the apron for a few inches but tight along rest of the length. Every time before, the bridge broke off and I made a new body and cap. The top surface of this bridge is good, so I used the Fein MultiMaster and had that body off in less than 10 minutes in tact; surfaces useable. One photo is as they came apart, the other is after a little attention. An oscillating belt sander dressed the bottom of the body, scraping and sanding cleaned up the apron. I'll glue on a piece of quarter sawn maple to the bottom of the body and adjust downbearing. Delignit would be overkill but mahogany might be nice too. On a lesser quality piano I would be tempted to just fill the void with epoxy but these usually have too much d/b on the low end and shy on top anyway. I plan on experimenting removing a sounding board with this fantastic tool. I have a dummy grand for this. -- Regards, Jon Page -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
