“The rebuilder hasn't a clue (nor do I) as to, "Why is this pinblock different from all other pinblocks" with regard to consistency of torque, and does not feel that it is his responsibility.” Perhaps it was not be the block or the drilling, it could have been the pins? I have known a few rebuilders who size their pins. Take several boxes of pins and size them through a series of cauls and sort them small, medium, and large to gain better control over torque.
