Subject: "non" Knuckle to Jack regulation

Dear list members.

I am working on a piano that has the knuckle build into the hammer shank. It
consists of a ledge cut in the bottom of the shank which is then covered
with leather. This replaces the standard knuckle. My problem is what to
align the jack to as there is no center core as in a regular shank/knuckle
arrangement. Any suggestions on how to handle this would be appreciated.

Thanks you.
