Both systems have their problems and I suppose it depends on where your priorities are. The belly mounted system is nice because its operational right in front of you and it's easy to see where slight variations in tab engagement are occurring so fine regulation is a bit easier not requiring pulling the action in and out in order to check that you've gotten it right or readjustment when you reposition the action. The action mounting system is nice when something goes wrong with a damper lever as it allows you somewhat easier access. Choose your poison. One thing's for sure, too much time has been spent on this thread. David Love davidlovepianos at comcast.net www.davidlovepianos.com
