Hi,
I have on ocasion when I did not want to sell the item or wanted to discourage the work to be done on a piano.
A bad back tends to make me avoid some work unless well compensated for it. Like Square pianos are double my regular fee.

I would sonner believe the Inventronics buys the cord already put together and it probably takes about 30 seconds. And if they do they prpbably pay about $5.00 for it.

  Hi,
The parts might cost at most all of $5.00
Putting them together to make the item an hour.
How much do you charge per hour?? <g>

I called Inventronics to purchase a new cord for my thumb switch. $25 plus about $8 shipping. I got a cord with 1/8" tips and two adaptors to make the Accutuner size for around $9.00. Making profit is fine BUT.......

I use a Radio Shack 9V 300mA transformer for my older SAT . As John suggested, bring the SAT to Radio Shack to ensure you get the correct tip.
Question--does the orientation of the tip into the transformer wire connection affect the polarity?

        Howdy,

I looked on the Inventronics website and didn't see the answer to my question. I was trying to find my other adapter for charging my ol' Accutuner I. I think I found it--a spare that I got from Radio Shack some time ago.

My original TAMURA states it is a Class 2 power supply,
        INPUT AC 120v 60hz 4w
        OUTPUT DC 9v 100mA

        The one from Radio Shack:

        For 15-1832 AC Adapter
        Model:DV-1220DC Class:2
        INPUT: 120VAC 60Hz 6W
        OUTPUT: 12V DC 200mA

So, does anyone know if the Radio Shack one is OK for the Accutuner? It's the only one I have hanging around and I can't think of anything else I would have bought it for. I don't want to plug it in and have a catastrophe.

It's generally best to use the same output voltage. Otherwise, you might burn a circuit in your SAT. :-) It might indeed work, but I'd stick with what the manufacturer says to be on the safe side.

In your case, you'd need a 9V (output) adapter. Radio Shack will have what you need. Take your SAT with you, and they'll set you up. Basically, it's as simple as getting the correct output voltage and plug size. Plug size is not as important, but voltage usually is. Wal-Mart would also have a generic adapter that would probably work. Both stores probably have the universal adapters with selectable voltage.
