If you bring the rail with you I can’t imagine the quest taking more than a
few minutes.

Using self tapping sheet metal screws that would cut their own “new “
threads is an idea that comes to mind but my local store has a good supply
of metric fasteners where an exact match is usually available.. 

Yamaha tech services may be able to give you the info and even send the
parts ,but again with the rail in hand IMHO this is a easy fix without
jumping through so many hoops.

No way!  I went to one today and picked up a few things that didn't work.
We're talkin about a zillion different threads for one size screw!  If
someone had the exact specs on the screws that would be great.  I do not
feel like spending my entire day looking for the exact fit.

 

I was just hoping a supply house would carry what I would need.  Or, I
guess, Yamaha.  Anyone else have any ideas?

Does anyone know where to get some hardware for the Quiet Keys System you
commonly find on Yamaha U-1's?  I am just talking about the wingnut that
goes on the bass side, and the two little screws that go on the treble side,
that are used to connect the actual muffler bar.
