Hi Alicia, The problem with most lubricants is that they leave a film on the parts which after a time "gums up" with dust. They may work for some time but so far no one has found an oil that will work without failing. Here is something to try with the "Hoppes" oil. Get a white blotter. Apply a "dot" of oil. If a stain or discoloration is left behind then it is most probably not appropriate for piano use. Please remember that this list is open to the public.
