Most of the hide glue made in the US in made from horses and made in New Jersey. You can tell by the smell. We'll anyway, I use it on the piano, I don't eat it.

        But what I'm contemplating, Ron, are the vegans 
    in England who died from "Mad Cow Disease" after
    merely dusting their roses with "infected" bone meal (
    conclusively proven ), and the fact that hide glue is
    made from the same junk, essentially. 
        And the fact that the Cattle Industry lobby has
    manipulated the testing system in the U.S., for this,
    so that, essentially, NO cases will be caught. ( The
    cows are tested too young, and too infrequently ,for 
    definitive results, then slaughtered for consumption.
    Please read ex-mass-cattle rancher Howard Lyman's "No
    More Bull" for the details on this vile chicanery . )
       And the fact that a Yale Medical School study, 
    which autopsied 100 cadavers that died of
    "Alzheimers", allegedly, turned up 48 with structures
    in their brains resembling "Mad Cow", in fact.
        If being concerned about this makes me
    "neurotic", in someones' eyes, well, so be it.

    P.S. We put a  man on the moon, so the only reason a
    "suitable substitute" for hide glue hasn't been 
    invented, is lack of demand.

  So this man on the moon thing, did they use hide glue for the space suits or what?

  Is that why those tiles keep falling off of the shuttle? They glued 'em on with hide glue and the humidity in Florida makes'em fall off?
