Pearl glue is simply hide glue or animal glue produced in the form of 
"pearls" rather than in grain or cake form.  Just as with the others, 
there are different qualities or strengths.  It is the most commonly 
used hide glue on England and very convenient to use, with the 
advantage that "what you see is what you get" when the glue is set, 
so of you're gluing in hammer shanks and you want a nice clear golden 
ring, you'd use pearl glue that looks like this:
